“Hosting, to me, is storytelling. It’s about crafting spaces where people feel held, delighted, and remembered.”
There’s something magical about gathering with the women you love most, not just for a celebration — but for an experience. This past February, I hosted a Galentine’s dinner, and it remains one of the most cherished nights I’ve ever curated. From the tablescape to the menu, every detail was crafted to celebrate sisterhood, softness, and the joy of gathering around good food.
Setting the Scene – A Love Letter in Every Detail
“It’s the little touches that turn a dinner into a memory.”
The colour theme was clear: pink, yellow, and florals — a palette that felt both playful and romantic. I sent my guests physical invitation cards that hinted at the theme, requesting they wear outfits inspired by it. That single gesture added a layer of excitement and intention from the start.
On the table:
- Pink ribbons tied around each champagne flute
- Personalised place cards at each seat
- Mini yellow floral bouquets for each guest
- Love letter–folded napkins, sealed with a pink candy heart
- A curated mix of eclectic candle holders with pink tapered candles
- A DIY floral ice bucket holding chilled Brut Rosé

A Menu Made with Intention (and a Hint of Pink)
Every dish on the menu was chosen with care — not just for flavour, but also to enhance the soft, feminine energy of the evening.
🍸 Welcome Cocktail:
A fragrant Turkish Delight cocktail — delicate, rosy, and floral.
🍽️ Starter:
Springbok carpaccio with crispy onions and a cream cheese dollop — rich, tender, and beautifully plated.
🍝 Main Course:
Beetroot and prawn ravioli, handcrafted and blushing pink, served in a light butter sauce to highlight the filling.
🍓 Dessert:
A vibrant strawberry tart with a smooth mascarpone cream filling — sweet, tart, and irresistibly pretty.
🍹 Mocktail Option:
Watermelon and lemonade for my non-drinking guest — refreshing and elegant.
The Thought Behind the Details
“I wanted my guests to feel cherished, celebrated, and seen.”
This dinner wasn’t just about aesthetics — it was about making my friends feel special. From the handmade touches to the considered drinks and inclusive menu, every part of the evening reflected my love language: hosting.
Whether you’re planning your own Galentine’s, a birthday dinner, or just an intentional night with friends, remember — it’s the thought behind the details that guests remember most.
Host with Heart
If you’re dreaming of creating an unforgettable evening like this, don’t overthink it — just start with one meaningful detail. The rest will unfold beautifully. ✨
